Drake University Athletics issued the following announcement on Jan. 4.
The Drake University men's basketball team returns to the Knapp Center where it is undefeated this season to host preseason Missouri Valley Conference favorite Loyola. Saturday's tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Mediacom MC22 and ESPN+
The Bulldogs are 6-0 at home this season and are one of 62 teams in the nation that are unbeaten at home and have played six or more home dates. Drake has averaged 95.0 points in its last three games and leads the MVC with 81.2 points per game this season. That average ranks 51st nationally.
Senior Nick Norton had helped lead the offense with a 60-to-12 assist-to-turnover ratio in the last 10 games before suffering a season-ending knee injury at Evansville.
Offensively, Nick McGlynn is averaging 17.9 points per game in the last 10 games with three 20-point performances. In his last outing, he finished with his 11th career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Loyola, which advanced to the Final Four last season, has won three-straight games against the Bulldogs and owns a 17-12 advantage in the series. However, Drake has won two of the five meetings in the Knapp Center.
Following Saturday's game, the Bulldogs remain home to host SIU Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.
