Grinnell College Athletics issued the following announcement on Feb. 14.
Grinnell collected individual wins from Grant Lattery '22 in 1-meter diving with a score of 366.30 and Kevin Donahue '21 in the 200-yard individual medley in 1:56.55, the fourth-best time in program history.
The other title came from Matas Maksimaitis '23, Enrique Valero Ying '23, Mitch Sevier '21 and Albert Ford '20 in the 400 medley relay. Their time of 3:27.68 ranks third in program history. Sevier now has nine MWC titles in his career and Ford six.
Chris Zhang '22 was second in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:57.13 and Ben Brim '23 helped Grinnell complete the 1-2-3 sweep in the event, placing third in 1:57.96. Brim's time ranks 13th in program history.
Also placing third was Jonathan Rebelsky '20 in 1-meter diving with a score of 341.05, as well as the 200 freestyle relay team of Sevier, James Park '20, Zhang and Luke Klein-Collins '23. Their time was 1:26.72.
Sam Heller '23 was fourth in 1-meter diving with a score of 336.00, while sixth place went to Ford in the 500 freestyle (4:50.43), Paul Cover '21 in the 200 individual medley (1:59.12) and Klein-Collins in the 50 freestyle (21.71). Klein-Collins' time is 12th in program history, Ford's is 17th and Cover's 19th.
Sevier was eighth in the 50 freestyle in 21.77 and Ian Johnson '23 placed ninth in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:49.37.
The meet continues with more preliminaries at 10 a.m. Saturday. Finals are slated for 5:30 p.m.
